A "Blue Moon" is the second full moon in the same calendar month.
This occurs only once every three years. We will have a Blue Moon
on Friday, July 31st, with special events planned to celebrate!

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will be hosting a free concert, performed by guitarist/vocalist Chris Long, beginning at 6:30 PM. The concert will be followed by a Full Moon Walk through the park, with entry times limited to 8:00-8:30. The concert is free, regular fees apply to go into the park. Guests may bring flashlights for use on the trails.

FREE CONCERT AT THE ARTS PARK
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and join us on the grass at the Halagueno Arts Park, right next to the Carlsbad Museum. There will be a free concert performed by The Squash Blossom Boys and Floozy. Our featured artists come from Albuquerque. July 31st, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Food will be available for purchase from C-N-G Catering, mesquite smoked BBQ.

Every Friday, the big Community Campfire begins at 7:00. Meet us at the king-sized fire pit near the main building. Gather round the fire for free S'Mores! Sunday is Movie Night at Carlsbad KOA. Movie and snacks start at 6:00. Check at front desk to find out what film will be showing. Again, it's totally free!

We have an assortment of cool stuff available for loan at no charge, seven days a week. Just ask at front desk to borrow the Wii, horseshoes, ping pong, basketball, darts and croquet.
